I strongly agree with you. But my main question when looking at the Nigerian setting is, If money is not a motivating factor, then why do people want to first know what the "salary package" for a job is before they even bother to read about the job description? Even during interview, most people don't even bother to understand the scope of the work they're about to be employed for, rather they just focus on what they expect to be paid for that position. Then when they get the job and find out the job is more than what they bargained for you start hearing complaints.
I think most of us here are just interested in how much Naira we can earn rather than how much knowledge and value we can earn through our job responsibility
