I once listened to a popular preacher who told her congregation that the sure way of getting out of debt is to " stop buying things you don't need". She went ahead..."some of us are praying for a miracle ..but God has given it to us . It is called 'Self Control' ". Well, I guess this is easier said than done because I am even a culprit . l still loose control and indulge in impulse shopping, God help me! Getting into debts is far easier than getting out of it. Debts amassed in an instant may take months or years to be repaid. I am not an economist but experience has taught me that the first step to go about debt repayment is by putting the debt in constant perspective. Put them in writing so that you can easily recall them even unconsciously. Penning down debts is a simple way to making a repayment plan..no matter how little the repayments amount is.
Second, when in debt, look for ways to cut costs! Learn to do things yourself and save the money for employing little little services. You can learn to wash your own clothes instead of going to the drycleaners, cut your hair, cook your meals, take a walk instead of taking the bus,and so on. When these tiny bills add up, they make huge savings. No matter how much is owed, it can be gradually paid off. It takes a lot of discipline.
