Had a similar experience with a mechanic someone introduced me to. I mean this was the first time i had a dealing with this guy and he literally pissed me off. His shop is near berger yard Ajah, Lagos.
I met this guy and told him the problems i was having with my struts and suspensions. I told i him i needed them fixed because when i’m driving through rough road i get a lot of vibration and discomfort. Due to my inability to source the items from market myself, i asked him to buy and charge me. this guy said no problem. After 2 whole days of calling and calling he finally brought back my car. i was happy to see my car and entered the car to test drive him. Wait a minute! bros, i said, this car still dey feel this vibration like before and i don’t notice any change. The guy was mute and he understands because he was feeling the vibrations too. Next thing he said really pissed me off..
Oga i changed all the faulty parts. maybe this one na another problem when we no see. The money wen i take fix this motor plus labour na 20k.
At that moment i became furious 😡 . The guy too as a Lagos guy started ranting and then it entered a heated debate. i eventually paid him N12,000 and he left telling me to bring the car the next day so that he will resolve the issue.
On getting to work the next day, i discovered that this guy had broken my booth lock engine (Mercedes for that matter). i called him and he swore with his mothers grave that he doesn’t know anything about it. I eventually spent another N22,000 to change the booth lock. My hate and disdain for that guy knew no bounds. I have since deleted him from my contact and he should for sure know that he WILL NEVER EVER change even my radiator water or any of my friends or associates in the future.
People get opportunity to make themselves shine, but pettiness and indiscipline make them stunted for life
